FAST Update

UUSP had a turnout of 21 folks who attended the Assembly on October 26. At this Assembly, we heard updates from the past year’s committees and voted as follows for the upcoming year:

  • Continue to work on Affordable Housing. While continuing to monitor the progress of Pinellas County and the City of St Pete in spending the allocated 86 million dollars on affordable housing that FAST convinced them to do, we will move forward on another strategy to increase affordable housing this year.
  • Split the Mental Health and Criminal Justice issues into 2 committees to work on each independently.
  • Disband the School Suspensions committee since the Pinellas school board has agreed to our proposal.

There will be a kick off for the research phase of FAST’s work on Monday, November 30 at 6:45pm. Plans will begin for the new committees’ work at that time.
