UU St. Pete stands out because of the strong collaboration between the Minister and lay leaders on worship. Much of that collaboration occurs in the Worship Ministry.
The purpose of the Worship Ministry is to promote excellence in our worship services, to assist in planning and carrying out worship services, and to provide a conduit for input and feedback about worship from all members of the church community.
Some members are Worship Associates who work closely with the Minister and guest speakers. A Worship Associate is a layperson with a deep interest in the worship life of the church - a person who participates with the ministers and others in facilitating worship experiences. The role of the Worship Associate is to help nurture the worship life of the church by creating a visible reminder that worship is a shared responsibility, by fostering a variety of worship opportunities in our religious community and by eliciting the sacred voice that is in all of us.
