Some things are transitioning in our lives and UU community. Soon we’ll be gathering face-to-face, and some faces will be new and some will be absent. Even the meaning of some things will change over time. Yet, some meaning is unchanging, however unseen or unheard. With the new income tax deadline, Juneteenth, Fathers Day, Summer Solstice and World Refugee Day all in mind, let’s consider what meaning remains unchanging. I’m thinking Mary Oliver’s poem, “The Gift,” might be a good entry point, and Langston Hughes’ “I’ve Known Rivers.”
