Our theme for January is “Finding Our Center.” With daily headlines of war, climate woes, racial divisions, and assaults on our personal freedoms do we have the luxury of time for just ourselves? Yes, we must tend to ourselves individually. But in that centering we may discover that our center is moving or expanding. We can challenge ourselves to think beyond our home or this church. We can include the larger community. Where can our new center take us? Will the journey be safe or risky? Exhilarating or peaceful? Slow and steady or fits and starts? These are not either/or answers. They are both, and answers that I believe we are capable of handling.
