This Sunday precedes World UFO Day and celebration of the 4th of July’s declaration of independence from inequality of authority and treatment – and it will be my last Sunday as your minister. This sermon will ask about the importance and possibility of having a place of perfect union, a place to call home and “us.” I’m thinking that Sufi poet Rumi writes of this, and maybe the Unitarian Transcendentalist-influenced Emily Dickinson and Henry David Thoreau, and maybe the movie “ET.”
