CAN MINDFULNESS HELP?

Mindfulness is a term and concept that I did not hear about until I was at least 40 years old.  But these days it is increasingly common and valued in widening circles. What is “mindfulness”? Why is it important? And, as a side-note, how could it be relevant to Black History Month, Charles Darwin (whose birthday is this week), Groundhog Day, and Candlemas all at once, all in the same way?
