Hello All,

As you know, I’m coming down the home stretch as your pastor. And you are heading to a new starting line in the life of the church.  But it’s not really ending or beginning. The congregation of UU St. Pete has been growing in ways which, if sustained, will sustain you.

Most important, UUSP has developed communal gatherings (study, covenant, caring, worship, social, spiritual) that encourage and nurture. That mutual nurturance empowers fuller lives in and for the world.

The Native American teaching story is as good a reminder as there is: Given the ever-present choice between feeding the fierce attack dog within and the friendly helpful dog also within, feed the friendly helpful one. Nurturance feeds growth.
