Dear Friends,

The time is coming fast when an interim minister will be here helping our congregation assess our religious journey to date and where we want it to go henceforth – answering perhaps three questions foremost:

1) Who as a religious congregation do we serve?
2) What do we hope for from that service?
3) By what means and methods shall we do it?

I think it’s never too early to ponder those questions. We’re always experimenting – positing, enacting, evaluating, repositing, etc. Though the congregation democratically divvies up the ministry and maintenance of the church through bylaws, charters, policies, contracts and delegation, all of us have a covenantal share in deciding and carrying out our goals. What a difference when we do.
