Dear Friends,

Thanks to Sue Price for including us in the beautiful tribute to husband Roy, trombones and all. How good to be with Sue and family in the setting of sea and dunes and winds and sunset. And thanks to the crUU led by Care Committee chair Sarah Craig and UUSP president Susan Burnore, plus Sue’s LWV and Roy’s musician friends, for helping Sue plan our gathering.

Appreciating Roy was a reminder, I think, that the most important thing is to remember the most important thing. Whatever ours might be, though it change with time and need and reflection, it’s probably our best guide for present choices.

As I write, we have just heard the verdict on Derek Chauvin for the death of George Floyd. The headline response was relief, celebration and onward to caring and justice for all. There will be other responses. But through it all, I think caring and justice for all may be the way to describe our most important things.

May they remain at the front of our minds.
