Pastor Jack’s Weekly Message (September 25, 2020)

Pastor Jack

Hello all,

I’d guess almost all UUs are grieving the loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a living force in our world.  Some may be grieving the loss of what often felt like a caring personal relationship despite distances of miles, years and experience. Many others may be grieving the loss of an inspiring effective advocate for the rights of humankind. And still others may already be grieving the political character of the appointment to fill her now vacant Supreme Court seat.

Whether personal, moral or political, I feel we are all grieving the loss of someone who was unerringly on the side of every person’s deepest hopes and greatest well-being, whether they could see that or not.

Such an awesome loss, but RBG leaves us a common ground for grieving well: to come be effective for every person’s deepest hopes and greatest well-being.

May you have a grateful, thoughtful, purposeful week,

Pastor Jack
