Church Committees

Chair

Committees

Buildings
and Grounds

Chair:
Alexandra Bolton-Scultes

The purpose of the Building & Grounds Committee is to coordinate and oversee improvement and enhancement, as well as on-going maintenance and repair, of the Building and Grounds of the Church. We try to consider both preservation of the Church’s heritage and investment in its real property, and also such changes, improvements and enhancements as will support current and anticipated needs of the Church.  The committee is also charged with oversight of usage of the Church by both Members and outside parties for space rentals and such events as weddings, concerts and all events not directly sponsored by the Church.

We are currently meeting monthly at 10 am on the first Sunday of each month, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. If you are interested in participating in "B&G" please contact Alex Bolton-Schultes, albolton@uustpete.org, for more information.  Or simply come to our next meeting.

The purpose of the Communications Working Group is to promote excellence in church communications.  We are responsible for all written and electronic publications of the church including our newsletter "Scope," our website www.uustpete.org, our InfoNet blog and website http://uusp-infonet.blogspot.com, as well as generating Press Releases for events taking place at the church.  We also assist the other committees with their publicity needs.

We meet monthly - dates, times and places may vary.  If you are interested in participating in the "CWG" please contact Victor Beaumont,
Victor.Beaumont@uustpete.org, for more information.  Or simply come to our next meeting which is posted on the church calendar.  You do not need to be a member to participate.

Finance Committee

Chair:
David Warman

The purpose of the Finance Committee is to provide effective and efficient financial stewardship for our Church in an ongoing, pro-active, responsive, and forward-thinking manner that will encourage the involvement of all interested persons, enabling Councils and Committees to set and achieve goals that require financial resources.  Our goal is to communicate accurate, timely, and relevant financial information with all Members of our Congregation so that each person can understand, assess, and determine their appropriate financial contributions to enable and ensure the overall financial health of our Church..

We meet on an as-needs basis.  If you are interested in participating in the Finance Committee, please contact David Warman, David.Warman@uustpete.org, or by phone at 623-1497 for more information.  Or simply come to our next meeting which will be  posted on the church calendar.  You do not need to be a member to participate.

Hospitality Team

Chair:
(Vacant)

HOSPITALITY TEAM HELP WANTED

We enjoy coffee and sweets after the Sunday service and on other occasions. Gatherings provide us a chance to meet new people and chat with each other. We need to get some new folks to help with hospitality

We need help from anyone willing to spend some time in the kitchen, even occasionally. With many helping no one will have to work all the time. Hospitality will become a fun experience (wasn't it fun to do dishes with your mother?)

If you are interested in being on the Hospitality Team, even a small part, please contact Dave Coale or Margie Manning.

As a reminder; the First Sunday Shared Luncheons, which are usually on the first Sunday of every month, are POTLUCKS !!!  If you happen to forget, we won't throw you out, but we would sure miss that home cookin'. Sandwiches are always provided, but entrees will never go out of style.

Worship/Music
Committee

Chair:
(Vacant)

UU St. Petersburg stands out because of the strong collaboration between the Minister and lay leaders on worship. Much of that collaboration occurs in the Worship/Music Committee.   The purpose of the committee is to promote excellence in our worship services, to assist in planning and carrying out worship services, and to provide a conduit for input and feedback about worship from all members of the church community. Some members are Worship Associates who work closely with the Minister and guest speakers, and some members are involved in the music program.

Our regular meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm.
