To paraphrase the Declaration of Independence, "When in the course of human development it becomes necessary for one person to become individually responsible for one's own life decisions, a decent respect for the safety and happiness of self and all requires that one take up one's own search for truth and meaning."

This is the stage of life that some start as they begin puberty or young adulthood, or some much later, as they ponder how to raise their children or contribute to their society or care for Earthkind.  And some, never.

How helpful has the guidance of the world's wisdom traditions been in your search for truth and meaning?  (And for a later date, how helpful has your own direct experience been in finding truth and meaning.)
