SUNDAY is Share the Plate Sunday

Early in August Twizere and Elizabeth’s oldest child, Jibu, will start school full-time. He will be in kindergarten -- which is a big step for this serious little chap. He will need clothing and some school supplies -- which your donations on Sunday will help his parents’ purchase. One half of the non-pledge portion of Sunday's offering will be used for this purpose. So please be generous and help Jibu as he begins his formal education. Thank you!

UU St Pete began supporting this Congolese refugee family in early 2016 -- soon after they arrived from a refugee camp in Uganda.

Santa Has A New Job

Santa began working as a cashier at Publix this past week -- which demonstrates how proficient her English has become. The change in jobs has many pluses -- her starting salary is what she was earning at her previous job, she now has a predictable schedule and benefits. This is the first job that she got on her own without any assistance which she is very proud of. Here she is in her uniform with her beaming smile. Meanwhile our congregation is supporting the effort to get her three other children here from Lille, France. The process is complex but with guidance from long-time partner and immigration lawyer, John Dubrule, her persistence, some financial assistance from all of us and help in understanding the required paperwork -- progress is being made. Thank you.
