Thank You ALL . . . .

For a very successful Guest at Your Table program. Together we made greeting cards for migrants staying in shelters along the Border.

Thirty people attended each of the two related workshops — the first delved into why Central Americans are migrating away from their countries and past US involvement in their politics; the second covered specifics about our southern border and the cost of a wall as well as the current state of immigration courts. We then discussed what areas we want to follow-up on: further communication and some advocacy on the Immigration Courts, where children are detained and ensuring they are reunited with their parents.

To further support the important work of the UUSC’s partners you all gave generously. The total collected was a whopping:  $2,661.00

Thank you! Thank you so very much!

Farmworker/Immigrant Planning Meeting

Thursday, February 21, 2019 - 4:00pm - 5:30pm

This Social Justice committee supports Farmworker and Immigrant Families by identifying and organizing our Church’s  participation in projects that support these immigrant communities via direct outreach as well as advocate for systemic change. There are so many ways to help these underserved and often neglected populations. We welcome your ideas and encourage your involvement in this very loving and meaningful work.

At our monthly planning meetings we review status of existing projects and plan new educational and advocacy events as well as steps for outreach to specific refugee and immigrant families.

Please join us -- all are welcome.
