Town Hall on Facilities Planning - Your Comments Needed

Come to either Town All...or both!

Wednesday, February 27 at 12pm noon  (brown bag in Conway after the Wednesday discussion group)
Sunday, March 3 at 12pm noon

Our historic 1929 sanctuary and fellowship hall, along with the 1967 education building, has the capacity and potential to support our growing congregation for many years.  Providing a home for the individual, collective spiritual growth, and our community outreach.  Our facilities currently suffer from deferred maintenance, aging building systems, and under- utilization of space.
We’ve started a process to evaluate the condition of our facilities, assess our long-term needs, identify priorities and develop a long-range facilities plan. We want to move to a proactive and fiscally sustainable approach to facilities maintenance, reduce long-term costs and increase revenue.
Come learn about our initial findings and plans and share your thoughts on priorities and long term needs.  Please consider these questions:
* What works well?  What are the strengths of our facility & location?
* What are the deficiencies?  What doesn’t function well or fails to meet your or the congregation’s needs?
* What are your top priorities for changes, upgrades and repairs to our facilities & grounds?

If you want to respond directly or have questions, contact Sharon Winters at or Randy Nolan at

Buildings & Grounds Committee Meeting

Your Building and Grounds Committee is looking for handypersons to paint, repair and renew our church.

Major projects we are working on include a new stairway with lift to Conway’s second floor that may be located in the playground area, remodel of the sinks and dishwasher area in the kitchen, and a new patio area at the front of the church.

Our sanctuary was built in 1929 and requires a lot of maintenance and upkeep.  Much of this work is done by volunteers because the church budget does not cover enough to pay tradesmen.  In addition, our membership has increased and so too has our utility and other operating expenses.

Building & Grounds Committee hopes you will learn more about our church’s financial resource situation.  You are also encouraged to join our volunteers. There is always more to do and we can use your ideas and efforts.  Come join us.  We meet at 5:30pm next Tuesday, February 12 in Conway.

We meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 – 7:00 PM in Conway MIddle.  Stop by and find out what we do!  Request copies of our Minutes be emailed to you.  Join in and brag to your friends about things like a new bookshelf you helped install (provided it stays up, of course …).  Anyway, come on by and find out more!  Fame, glory, fun and more can be yours!
