UU St. Pete InfoNet: Tibetan Monks 2020

Tibetan Monks Sacred Art Tour

UU St. Pete will have eight Tibetan monks from Drepung Gomang Monastery in India (their place of exile with the Dalai Lama) staying as our guests in some of the rooms in Conway Hall from this Wednesday, January 8, through Saturday, January 11. They will be busy with the Sacred Arts Tour activities elsewhere most days - particularly at the Florida CraftArts shop (directed by UUSP member Katie Deits). If you meet them at UUSP, since most don't speak English, a simple hello and bow would be welcoming - or you may try your Tibetan.

All are invited to a special healing moment on Saturday, January 11 at 6 p.m. (to purchase tickets go to www.floridacraftart.org - FCA members $15, nonmember $25)  As part of the Second Saturday ArtWalk, people can meet the monks at 5pm at Florida CraftArts and then promptly at 6pm participate in a worldwide meditation to promote healing of self, friend, family, country, and earth. It will be a time to come in harmony with the healing powers of the Universe.

Further information about the monks' activities through the week, especially their creation of the healing mandala at Florida CraftArts, please check out the flyer as there are some costs involved for some events.  Just click the link below to view the flyer and/or print it out.
