Stone Soup Sunday

Stone Soup is UUSP's annual event supporting the work and outreach of UU's Helping People homeless ministry.

This Sunday, November 24,  there will be a sneak preview prior to the Service, and a silent auction following the Service. Auction winners will then enjoy hearty soup in their newly acquired bowl. Proceeds support the Friday Night Picnic, serving ~80 people in need every week of the year. They also will enable financial support of local service providers e.g., St. Petersburg Free Clinic, Women's Shelter, DayStar and Celebrate Outreach's Tiny Homes for Homeless Veterans Project.

RE Corner

Religious Education:  November 24, 2019

This month’s theme for RE is Attention.

Each week, the students will be knowledgeable in the theme of each month. November’s theme is Attention. This weeks lesson entails Attention to Beauty and Abundance Around US. Each month, our youth will explore and learn about other faiths that flow with UU to enable and expand their own perspective. For more information about the themed curriculum, contact uurefc@gmail.com.

Nursery care is provided in Conway Hall from 10:00am - 12pm for infants through preschool by Laura and volunteer assistant.

Family Seating for service: On the front, right side of the sanctuary, the first two rows are labeled and reserved for families with children. After “Time For All Ages/StoryTime” (roughly 10:40am) the children are then guided upstairs by Ms. Jeanay, Ms. Trish and Mr. Joe to RE. Children and youth are returned to their parents in coffee hour at 11:45am.

Come one come all!!

All are welcome to join your fellow parishioners in UU of St Pete's Annual Thanksgiving Dinner!

Turkey and ham will be provided with participants bringing the sides and dessert. We had a fantastic time last year and we're expecting even more guests this year. Sign up sheets will be on the piano in Gilmour Hall. If you don't want to bring a dish to the dinner, please still sign up to come. All are welcome!! Bring a guest or two.

Dinner is at 2pm on Thanksgiving Day November 28.  Please come a little early to enjoy the fine company and conversation. My Mother, Joy, will be decorating Gilmour Hall for the dinner the day before and wouldn't mind a hand.  If you have the time to help, please add your name to the sign up sheet for that event, which will be on the piano also.
