UU ST. PETE COVENANT GROUPS meet monthly (or more often if the group prefers) to deepen acquaintance with and appreciation of one another and of life.  A covenant group consists of 7-12 people and is facilitated by a group leader.  The meetings include opportunity for a personal check-in, plus discussion of a more general question of life – and are a  great opportunity to get to know and be known.  The gatherings are held wherever the group chooses – often at a member’s home or at the church.   Currently UUSP has seven covenant groups.  If a group grows beyond 12 people, it usually chooses to seed a new group.

INTERESTED?  Current meeting times are:

  • 3rd Mondays (6:30-8:00pm);
  • 3rd Mondays (7-8:30pm);

New Financial Secretary and Assistant Financial Secretary

Casilia Smith, who has been our Financial Secretary (FS) for the past seven months, is stepping down due to health issues, effective February 9. Many thanks to Casilia for her attention to detail and accuracy, and for serving UUSP so well.

Barbara Archibald, who is currently Assistant Financial Secretary (AFS), has agreed to step into the FS role, effective February 9, for the duration of this fiscal year.  Prior to retirement, Barbara practiced law in California and the U. S. Virgin Islands, and became a member of the UUSP community a year ago, along with her husband Tom.

To assist Barbara, Carol Ulmer has agreed to step into the AFS role effective February 19.  Carol is a new member of UUSP who worked in corporate banking most of her career. As a UU in Summit since 2004, she served as Chair of the Finance Committee, Secretary of the Board, and attended three General Assemblies. She and her husband Ken Degen moved to St. Petersburg last August.

Sunday Flowers

We would like to remind everyone that we need more folks to step up and agree to bring flowers on Sundays.  Just stop by the Sunday Flowers table during coffee hour after service (usually at the piano in Gilmour) and pick a date that works for you to maybe commemorate a birthday, anniversary, special event, in memory of, etc...

Reach to Gay Breuler or Jim Fitzgerald if you have questions or to sign up.  We love seeing the flowers each week.

Thank you!
