RE Corner

Religious Education:  December 15, 2019

Today after service is our Picnic In The Park. Join RE in our covered park area to enjoy grilled foods, lovely music & conversation as we prepare to get our yard ready for some gardening. Bring some food for the grill if you’d like!  If you have rakes, gloves, a big heart and a green thumb, come out for the fun!

We are in mid-December, continuing our theme of each week. This weeks lesson entails Looking At The Night Sky. When is the last time you watched the moon rise or a star set from the night sky? Exercise stopping time: moving with qigong with time dilation practice. This exercise is designed to help break our fixation on time and shift our consciousness. Doing this for a few minutes can really cause a pattern interrupt, help the mind break free from the drudgery of compressed time, and help us jump out into the living, breathing, present moment of the now, which is full of potential and energy. Join us in RE to learn more. Contact:

Nursery care is provided in Conway Hall from 10:00 am - 12pm for infants through preschool by Laura and volunteer assistant.

Family Seating for service: On the front, right side of the sanctuary, the first two rows are labeled and reserved for families with children. After “Time For All Ages/StoryTime” (roughly 10:40 am) the children are then guided upstairs by Ms. Jeanay, Ms. Trish and Mr. Joe to RE. Children and youth are returned to their parents in coffee hour at 11:45 a.m.

If your 10-12th graders plan to attend High School level OWL (Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education), please fill out the survey in your email to help us pick dates that work for the group. Please understand that it may be impossible to find dates that work for every person, but we will do our best to find dates that work for most people. Don’t have the email? Contact the DRE using subject ‘OWL Survey Request’.
