New Sound and Lighting Systems Installed

The congregation put sound and lighting as high priority projects on the Needs & Priorities list for the church. This past week, technicians moved all the pews, put up scaffolding, and completed both projects during the weekdays in order to be ready on Sunday.

The new sound system which has been installed will provide much clearer sound throughout the sanctuary. It can also be used for musicians and performances on a limited basis. In addition, we’ve added a second wireless handheld microphone to help with meetings.

The new lighting is all LED and will provide a clear view of the front of the sanctuary, including each pulpit and the steps, and cost much less. Separate areas can now be controlled separately.  We’ve also replaced the beam lights that shine up to the ceiling to provide indirect lighting.

The two projects were paid from our parking lot fund and do not affect our budget. Special thanks go to retired Buildings and Ground committee chair Howard Taylor for shepherding these projects to completion for many months.
