UUSP Meditation Retreat In Gilmour Hall

UU St. Pete holds quarterly meditation retreats, four Saturday mornings per year, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Each hour includes 40 minutes of sitting meditation and 20 minutes of walking meditation. An opportunity for eating meditation is offered at the third hour. Brief instruction is offered in Zen Meditation (sitting, breath-counting) and Vipassana/Insight/Mindfulness Meditation (breath counting, noting interruptions), and Contemplative Prayer (hearing a special text and drawing a meditative focus from it). Practitioners are of course welcome to follow other practices they might prefer. Chairs are provided; and you are welcome to bring a zafu (pillow/cushion) and zebuton (cushioned mat).  Facilitated by Rev. Jack Donovan, Dave Coale, and others.
